The charity ball had been held each year since 2002.  It is an opportunity for the Australian Retail Industry to raise much needed funds for very worthy beneficiaries.  The brief this time was to provide a non stop extravaganza to satisfy all stakeholders.  Sponsors needed to feel confident that their contributions would be used effectively to make a difference to the people that the event supports and the event itself needed to once again evolve so that support could grow.  


The previous year a “Full House” sign had to be put up so a new venue had to be found.  The Hordern Pavilion ticked all the boxes - A fabulous venue to dress & the flexibility to use preferred suppliers.  A red carpet flanked by Vintage cars, Mafia Men & Fancy Free Flappers greeted the guests on arrival.  “Louie the Rat” & his associates’ assisted the crowd into the room urging them into their seats.  Machine Gun fire from the stage commanded attention as MC's Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller of WSFM shielded by Gun toting Stand over Men were hustled onto the stage to be introduced by the Gangsters.

There were many creative fundraising components on the night.  Cigarette girls sold beads, boas, garters, head bands & cigarette holders for the women, light weight white silk scarves, fedoras & spats for the men.  Photographs, silent auction, grand auction, & casino tables also contributed to the fundraising. 

Entertainment was provided by an interactive Chicago show, followed by a cameo performance by Amy Pearson and finishing off with the fabulous John Field band.


The guests were blown away by the theming and the non stop action.  They generously put their hands in their pockets and a record amount was raised for the charities.   Grand auction & silent auction walls looked fabulous, and sponsors were honoured to be associated with such a prestigious event. 

From humble beginnings 7 years ago this event has grown each year and this time with a new much larger venue we took it to a new level - birthed again, we gave the event a new beginning.
